Wednesday night in Tampa, the Yankees will attempt capture to series against Alex Cobb and the Rays. Should they win it would be their 5th consecutive series win, dating back to the Indians.

After losing game 1 of the series 5-1, the Yankees rallied back from an early 1-0 hole that was caused by a 32 pitch 1st inning from Phil Hughes.

Andy Pettitte will take the mound for the Yankees as he will try to break the streak of bad 1st innings from a Yankee starter. Both Sabathia and Hughes threw at least 30 pitches in the opening frame, surrendering a total of 5 runs.

Kevin Youkilis won't be in tonight's lineup for the 4th straight game as he continues to nurse his back after experiencing more tightness Monday during BP.

Girardi told reports Tuesday that Youkilis wouldn't play again until Thursday when the Yankees return back to the Bronx to open up a series against the Blue Jays.

Tonights pitching matchup:

Pettitte (3-0, 2.01) vs Cobb (2-1, 2.58)

Tonights lineup:

Gardner 8
Ichiro 7
Cano 4
Hafner DH
Cervelli 2
Overbay 3
Nunez 6
Boesch 9
Nix 5
