Ivan Nova fired a not so impressive, but winning start in his last outing against the D-backs and would not get away with that on Sunday in Toronto.

Nova was once again all over the place giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, with 4 walks, throwing 56 strikes on 101 pitches over 5 innings.

The Blue Jays jumped on Nova early, scoring 2 runs in the first two innings. Nova once again didn't jump out of the gates hot in the 1st inning as he threw 32 pitches.

The Yankees were able to back up Nova on offense, scoring 4 unanswered runs off Jays pitcher Josh Johnson.

Those runs were given right back in the 6th after a leadoff walk to Adam Lind and JP Arencibia doubled, Nova was pulled from the game with runners on 2nd & 3rd, no outs.

Boone Logan and David Phelps couldn't hold the lead, with Toronto pulling ahead 6-4.

Toronto added two more runs in the 7th off Phelps on a 2-run homerun from Arencibia.

Nova's line finished at: 5IP, 7H, 4R, 4BB, 5K.

Just as it was against Arizona, Nova didn't have one clean inning without a base runner, and the Jays had a leadoff runner in 4 of 5 innings.

Lucky for Nova, his next start will likely be against this very same Blue Jays lineup, when the Yankees return to the Bronx later this week.
