With his draft pick compensation finally gone thanks to the passing of the start of the MLB Draft, Kendrys Morales has signed with the Minnesota Twins, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. The Yankees had been interested in Morales, according to Heyman in the past, but will hate to find lineup help elsewhere.

The Yankees, like I just said, were interested in him with injury concerns surrounding Mark Teixeira's wrist and Carlos Beltran's elbow.

Heyman said a couple days ago that the Yankees asked Morales and his agent, Scott Boras, to hold off on signing with a team while they evaluate the health of both Teixeira and Beltran, but obvisouly that wasn't happening after Morales had already waited through the first two months of the season to sign.

I thought that Morales would have been a decent signing for the Yankees, but only in the case that Beltran needed surgery and couldn't play. He's not an option anymore, though, so now it's time to start looking at the trade market, I guess.
