The Yankees attempt for a second straight sweep over the Toronto Blue Jays was put on hold Sunday. About 30 minutes prior to 1st pitch the game was postponed due to rain.

Too much rain, keeps the brooms away.
A make-up date has not been scheduled, but the Blue Jays next come to New York August 20-22. Both teams have an off-day on August 19th, making that a likely make-up date.

"We're not going to be able to start until 9 o'clock," said Yankees manager Joe Girardi. "For us to sit around here waiting until 9 o'clock, I don't know how much sense that makes."

CC Sabathia was suppose to take the mound for the Yankees in Sunday. Instead he'll be pushed back to Monday, to start the series opener against the Orioles. Phil Hughes will start Tuesday. Hiroki Kuroda with start on Wednesday.

Vidal Nuno was scheduled to pitch on Tuesday in Baltimore, but the Yankees will instead skid his start. Girardi said that he'll be available out of the bullpen over the next few days and will likely start over the weekend in Tampa.

Reid Brignac was in the lineup today to make his Yankees debut, batting 8th and playing shortstop. Also, Curtis Granderson would have been playing center field for the 1st time this season and batting leadoff.

Keep on the lookout for an Orioles vs Yankees series preview, later in the day. Until then, you can follow @GavinEwbank2013 for more more Yankees talk.
