Things have been very different for the Yankees this spring compared to last year in terms of injuries. Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira and Curtis Granderson all went down for the Bombers last March, but all has been going well for the Yanks this spring.

The only real injury concern so far has been the sore oblique of Brendan Ryan that isn't really much of a concern at all.

The Yankees expect that Ryan will be out of the lineup for a few more days, and Joe Girardi believes that this injury won't have any long-term effects. Ryan had some precautionary MRIs the other day and everything came back clean.

“This isn't one of those things where it’s like, if it was Game 7 I could tough it out,” Ryan said. “No. Back end of a quadruple-header, I'd be upset if I wasn't in there. … I'd say they're being cautious to say the least. This is only happening because it’s March. Really quite a small deal.”
