I hate to say this, but we're currently in a dreaded rain delay in the Bronx.

When, or if, we resume play, there is one out in the top of the 2nd inning, with Avisail Garcia standing at the plate, down in the count 0-2 to starting pitcher Phil Hughes.

It was about 1:30 pm EST before the rain started to come down, and after a couple of minutes, that's when the umpiring crew chief called for the tarp to be brought out.

The New York Yankees currently lead the Chicago White Sox 1-0. Brett Gardner lead off the bottom of the 1st with a double, then came around to score on a base hit up the middle by Derek Jeter.

Hughes began the ballgame by retiring the White Sox in order on ten pitches.
