The Yankees announced just moments ago that David Phelps left Sunday night's game against the Boston Red Sox after just two innings due to inflammation in his right now, and just because of the fact that he had given up five runs on six hits.

They say that he'll be re-evaluated in New York in the coming days to know just how bad things are.

With four starters already on the DL, this is the last thing that the Yankees need to deal with right now, having to lose another starting pitcher. When you hear elbow, you pretty much think Tommy John right away, so we can only hope it's not that.

There aren't many options for the Yankees right now. Maybe they call up Bryan Mitchell from Triple-A, or even throw Chase Whitley back into the rotation. You can also imagine that Brian Cashman will be working the waiver wire this month for any decent pitchers that might be out there.
