The Arizona Diamondbacks are interesting in talking to Yankees bullpen coach Mike Harkey and Triple-A Scranton pitching coach Scott Aldred for their pitching coach job, reports Joel Sherman of the New York Post and Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports.

Harkey is one of manager Joe Girardi's closest friends, and he just recently signed a new deal with the Yankees to remain with the team through 2014.

Sherman says that the Yankees are most going to grant the D-Backs permission to speak with Harkey and Aldred because both would be going after a promotion over their current roles within the Yankees organization.

Arizona General Manager Kevin Towers is fairly familiar with Harkey after spending the 2013 season in New York.
