One of the three Yankees' first four picks from last year's draft has finally begun his road through the minor league system. Left-hander Ian Clarkin, who the Yankees drafted as one of their supplemental 1st round picks, was sent to Low-A Charleston, according to one of his buddies on Twitter.
Clarkin only pitched five innings in the Gulf Coast League because of an ankle injury last season, so he'll likely spend the entire 2014 season in Charleston, unless he pitches really well an the Yankees feel like sending him to Double-A at the end of the season.
Clarkin will be joining Aaron Judge in Charleston, who was picked with Clarkin in the first round by the Yankees in that draft.
